Specialist short courses planned for February.
1. Introduction to modes and modal improvisation.
An informal workshop that provides a simple, musical, introduction to modes & altered scales - how to find them and how to use them.
If you are curious and want to explore new areas of music making and have always wanted to improvise this course will provide a useful starter. All you need is a basic familiarity with a few Major scales.
2. Chord vocabulary.
Stuck in the 3 chord rut?
This workshop explores slash chords, polychords, substitutions, extensions - how to build them and how to use them.
This course is ideal for budding songwriters looking for more texture and for those who have been baffled by some chord symbols in lead sheets.
A basic familiarity with a few Major & minor triads will be useful.
Both the above courses will be scheduled for February 2018, please email us if you're interested and we can reserve a place. There are only 3 places available for each workshop.
